Christilot Boylen

Christilot Boylen is Canada’s most decorated dressage rider. In 1964, at the age of 17, Christilot made her Olympic debut in Tokyo. She competed in five additional Olympic Games (1968, 1972, 1976, 1984 and 1992), placing seventh in the 1976 Games. Christilot is a three-time individual Gold Medalist at the Pan American Games and has received numerous gold medals in the Team competition. Christilot is the current coach for Canada’s top dressage riders Belinda Trussell and Megan Lane, who both competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Megan Lane

Megan Lane

Megan Lane has been a recognized FEI competitor for over a decade. At the age of 20, she began competing in the FEI Grand Prix with her KWPN mare, Caravella. The duo has since represented Canada at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, won Silver in Team Competition at the 2015 Pan American Games and achieved a personal best score at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Megan earned 8 medals at the North American Young Rider Championships and has successfully trained many young horses to the Grand Prix level. Megan spends her winters training in Wellington, Florida where she competes at the Global Dressage Festival.

Evelyn Lucas

Evelyn Lucas

Evelyn came to Deer Ridge with 7 years of prior grooming experience with Grand Prix jumpers, dressage riders and quarter horses and is now in her second year as Deer Ridge’s Head Groom. Her philosophy is that a horse is at its best when it is shown the utmost respect and love on a day-to-day basis. Evelyn’s daily roles include feeding and tacking up the horses for training and showing. As Head Groom, Evelyn travels with the Deer Ridge team to Wellington for winter training. When Evelyn is not at Deer Ridge, you can find her riding her Quarter Horse and preparing her for showing.

John Mackay

John Mackay

John has been Head Groundskeeper and a cornerstone of the Deer Ridge team since 2008. He possesses a variety of skills and is always keen to lend a helping hand. John ensures the paddocks, arenas, bridle trails and ponds are meticulously maintained. When John is not working on one of Deer Ridge’s current projects, he can be found with his grandchildren or out fishing.
